Romeo Santos To Be Honored With the Billboard Top Latin Album of the Decade Award

The King of Bachata will be bestowed the accolade for his album formula: Vol. 2, during the October 21 ceremony live on Telemundo from Sunrise, Florida

Santos, a finalist up for six awards this year, including Artist of the Year and Streaming Song of the Year, achieved the No. 1 spot of the Billboard Top Latin Albums Decade-End chart with his album Formula: Vol. 2, which was full of great collaborations.

The album, which included songs with artists such as Drake, Kevin Hart, Nicki Minaj, and Carlos Santana, earned Santos his third No. 1 on the Top Latin albums chart, ruling for 11 weeks starting on March 15, 2014.

Formula: Vol. 2 achieved the record for the album with the most weeks on the Top Latin Albums chart with a total of 288 weeks and counting. It also holds the record for the album with the most weeks in the top 10, with a total of 168. On the Billboard 200 chart, the album earned Santos his highest debut (No. 5) on March 15, 2014.

The former leader of Aventura has achieved great recognition thanks to the high sales of his albums Formula: Vol. 1 (2012), Formula: Vol. 2 (2014), and Golden (2017). The songwriter has also been honored for his greatest hits, such as "Propuesta Indecente," "El Perdedor," "Obsesión" and "Enséñame a Olvidar," among others.

Santos, who just celebrated his 39th birthday, joined singer and guitarist Alex Bueno on his most recent project “Nuestro Amor,” his most anticipated musical release that premiered on his birthday during the month of July.
