Bachata Hero? Romeo Santos Teams Up With Marvel For His New Single “Héroe Favorito”

OMG! Romeo Santos just teased his first song in three years.

The Bachata star took to Instagram this past Wednesday to debut the cover of his new single Héroe Favorito, where he’s dressed as a super hero, thanks to his collaboration with Marvel.

Yes, Marvel.

For those of you who didn’t think it was possible, Santos literally teamed up with Marvel so that he can design a superhero version of himself.

"I always had this fascination with superheroes," Santos tells Billboard. "Who didn't love Hulk and Spider-Man?"

According to Billboard, The Hulk and Spider-Man are both referenced in Santos’ new single – the first of his upcoming album Golden. "At first, to be honest, I was skeptical," he admitted. "Could it look corny, me in a suit?"

But with the help of Marvel Custom, he didn’t need to worry.

“We get all the facts about what kind of hero you have in mind," explains Darren Sanchez, Marvel Project Manager and Editor. "A lot of guys want to fly; some guys want super speed. And then the attitude -- you want to be smooth, or very badass?"

We still don’t have a release date for Golden; however, Santos described the vibe as a combination of jazz and bachata.

This is almost too much to take in. Marvel? Bachata and Jazz?

"Jazz is not typically commercial; you don't hear much jazz on mainstream radio. If you're a bachata fan and you're like, 'I don't really know if I dig jazz,' I don't think it's going to be a problem," he predicts.

Héroe Favorito is out February 17^th.
