Rivera Recap: "The Riveras" Episode Three

"Movin' on" sees the Rivera family trying to move on from their loss.

If you're a fan of the Rivera family, you're in luck. MVTO is beginning a weekly recap of the new series starring the Rivera family. The Riveras is a spin-off of I Love Jenni, and it documents the lives of the late Jenni Rivera's children. There's Chiquis, Jacqie, Jenicka, Mikey, and Johnny. It's a lot of personalities clashing with each other, but it's so entertaining. This is Keeping up with the Kardashians on a whole other level.

Besides catching the show every Sunday at 10pm/9c on NBC Universo, you can catch the weekly recap right here on MVTO Binge, where we highlight each episode's biggest moments. No spoilers, we promise! So sit back and enjoy.

This week's episode was an emotional rollercoaster. The hour focuses on the family selling their mother's house. As you can imagine, it's a sensitive topic and what ensues is a deep and beautiful episode about time and "movin' on." The following three moments were the most noteworthy:

3. Johnny tries to sabotage the home sale:

While Chiquis is trying to get someone to finally buy the house, Johnny is doing everything in his power to prevent that from happening. His approach? Tell the potential buyers about that coyote that roams the surrounding woods and that ghost that haunts the upstairs portion of the house.

2. The changing diapers challenge

In a more light-hearted moment of the episode, Jacqie has Jenika and Mikey battle each other to win the room in her garage that she's giving up. The challenge? Change Jordan's diaper correctly. Turns out there's more to changing a diaper than you think.

1. "I don't want to do this:" Chiquis

Finally, in one of the most potent moments of the hour, we see the family go through Jenni's belongings while they're clearing out some boxes. They all get emotional, but Chiquis is especially affected. She says that she can still feel Jenni's presence whether she's on stage or doing an interview, she feels that her mother is with her. However, there are times when she feels nothing, and those are the moments that affect her. In one moment Jaqui says, "In time you find healing, but in time she starts disappearing." If you didn't reach for a tissue at any point of this scene, there's something wrong with you.

And that's how we close off our first recap of The Riveras. Head this way for more info and catch exclusive content to hold you down till next week! The Riveras every Sunday at 10pm/9c.
