Ultra Violet Craze: 2018 Pantone's Color of the Year Makes It to Our Kitchens

2018 Pantone's Color of The Year has been announced, and everyone is turning to ultra violet, including some of our favorite kitchen brands.

This year there’s going to be a new meaning to turning violet, and it may actually be a good thing!

Interior designers and the artistically inclined waited in anticipation for the Pantone Color Institute to announce their color of the year, and it seems like 2018 will see a lot of ultra violet.

According to an interview conducted by Elle Decor, Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, says that the color was chosen because “it's often associated with mindfulness practices, so it has that spiritual or mystical quality that's attached — a little bit of magic that's inferred in the color."

And magic is exactly what we all need a bit more of this upcoming year, so it's no surprise that a lot of our favorite staple brands are jumping on the bandwagon to offer our kitchen a bit more sparkle.

One kitchen item in 2018's new "it" shade is this Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer.

One of the most exciting announcements to come simultaneously was Le Creuset’s new shade, Provence, which was inspired by the lavender fields that bloom in the summer in the southern region of France. Ironically, the decision for the new Pantone color was not related, but it seems like the universe has conspired to send us a message.

If you are a fan of slow-cooking, then you can also find the perfect Crock-Pot in the same shade.
