MIAMI, January 18, 2017 – Yesterday, after the first day of the Natpe 2017 trade show, Telemundo Internacional presented its annual screening featuring the newest additions to its content catalog. With the theme “Todo Tiene Que Ver” (Everything Matters), the distributor presented its new Super Series, including El Chema – currently on air in the United States – and the future releases of this genre, El Señor de los Cielos, Season Five, Señora Acero, Fourth Season, and La Querida del Centauro, Second Season, produced by Sony Latin America for Telemundo.
Additionally, Telemundo Internacional unveiled Guerra de Ídolos, Telemundo’s first music drama series, and the second season of Sin Senos Sí Hay Paraíso, while sharing a closer look at La Doña, starring Aracely Arámbula, and La Fan — the romantic comedy which marks the return of Angélica Vale to this genre and had its simultaneous debut yesterday in the United States and Mexico.
The presentation, led by Marcos Santana, President of Telemundo Internacional, took place at the Pompeii Ballroom of the Nobu Hotel Eden Roc in Miami Beach before more than 500 guests, among these, leading worldwide television industry executives, including Cesar Condé, Chairman of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises and NBCUniversal International Group, and Luis Silberwasser, President of Telemundo Network.
In addition to dramas, this screening presented Telemundo’s variety, information and entertainment offer, led by Don Francisco Te Invita and Siempre Niños (also hosted by Don Francisco), as well as the popular shows Al Rojo Vivo and Caso Cerrado, and the music shows Premios Billboard, Premios Tu Mundo and Latin American Music Awards.
Telemundo Internacional also featured the product of its powerful alliances: Dios Inc. (HBO Latin America Originals), Ámbar (Mega Chile), El Camionero (TVN Chile) and Apuesta Final (SBS Korea).
During this screening, Santana highlighted Telemundo’s 2016 achievements, the year in which the network became the #1 Spanish-language channel in prime time in the United States. Also celebrated was the recent launch of Telemundo International Studios (TIS), the new project focused on the creation of miniseries of the highest quality, currently producing four series to be released to the market soon.
And, this year, Telemundo Internacional presented a special recognition to Mister Hwan-sik Yoo and SBS International of Korea for their partnership over the last ten years. As a result of this relationship, Telemundo Internacional has positioned itself as the leading distributor of Korean series in the American continent.
The event was kicked off with a live performance by María León, of one of her character’s top hits in the series Guerra de Ídolos. The musical finale was presented by the sensational duo Chino y Nacho, who, to the surprise of guests, performed “Soy Tu Fan”, La Fan’s theme song.
The presentation was followed by a celebration at the Fontainebleau Hotel’s club LIV, which was preceded by a red carpet event hosting more than 80 of Telemundo’s top talent, and other special guests.
