List of Confirmed Artists Grows
Miami, FL, April 19, 2007 - Renowned reggaeton artists, Calle 13 and Don Omar, as well as talented merengue singer/songwriter Juan Luis Guerra are confirmed to perform at the much anticipated 2007 Billboard Latin Music Awards show, which will take place on Thursday, April 26, at the Bank United Center in Coral Gables, Florida, and will be broadcast live on Telemundo at 7PM ET/PT. In addition, various artists and personalities from both the music and television industries will be presenting awards that night. All the details surrounding this spectacular event will be revealed on "Conteo al Billboard," (Countdown to Billboard) hosted by Monica Noguera and Rashel Díaz this Saturday, April 21st at 9PM on Telemundo.
Calle 13, Don Omar and Juan Luis Guerra join the list of stars already announced, including Miguel Bosé, Paulina Rubio, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Joan Sebastian, Wisin & Yandel, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Victor Manuelle, David Bisbal, R.K.M. & Ken-Y, Los Creadorez del Pasito Duranguense, Los Horóscopos de Durango, Diana Reyes and Mariano Barba, making this night an spectacular celebration of Latin music.
Calle 13\'s René Pérez Joglar "Residente" and Eduardo José Cabra Martínez "Visitante", who are finalists in the category of Reggaeton Album of the Year, are sure to enliven the crowd during their performance. They have proven to be a new musical sensation with an innovative style, conquering various international markets.
Don Omar, who is a finalist in the categories of Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year; Tropical Airplay Song Of The Year, Duo or Group with "Los Hombres Tienen la Culpa"; and Reggaeton Album of the Year with "King of Kings," is currently enjoying a leading position in the popularity lists. Recently, his name was printed next to megastars Shakira and Beyoncé in the hit single "Beautiful Liar," which he recorded in English as part of Beyoncé\'s "B-Day" album.
Talented Dominican musician Juan Luis Guerra has won over the love and respect of fans around the world with his great charisma and successful musical career. A few weeks ago, he led the Billboard charts with the recent hit "La llave de mi corazón," along with his famous group 440. This talented singer/songwriter was honored with the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award in 2005.
Music stars will not be the only ones shining at the Billboard Latin Music Awards as several television celebrities will also present some of the awards of the night. Among the musical artists presenting awards is acclaimed Colombian singer, Fonseca, who is a finalist in four categories Tropical Album of the Year, New Artist for "Corazón"; Latin pop Airplay Song of the Year, Male for "Te mando flores"; Latin Pop Airplay Song of the Year, New Artist with "Te mando flores"; and Tropical Airplay Song of the Year, New Artist with "Te mando flores"; and "El Chapo" de Sinaloa, who is also a finalist in the category of Regional Mexican Airplay Song of the Year, Male Solo Artist with "Para que regreses."
Prior to the much anticipated award\'s ceremony, Telemundo will air "Conteo al Billboard" (Countdown to Billboard) on Saturday, April 21st at 9PM/8c, hosted by beautiful and charismatic Telemundo personality Mónica Noguera and popular television host Rashel Díaz. The one-hour special will reveal all the exciting details surrounding Latin music\'s biggest night. In addition, the one-hour show will offer interviews with the finalists, special reports on the winners of the Spirit of Hope and Lifetime Achievement awards and a unique look at the unforgettable moments from past award ceremonies.
The awards show caps off the Billboard Latin Music Conference - the world\'s largest and longest-running Latin music gathering.
