Miami, FL — March 17, 2022 — The Latin American Music Awards (Latin AMAs) 2022 promises an extraordinary show, with the participation of renowned musical celebrities such as Black Eyed Peas, Boza, Calibre 50, Chiquis, Esteman, Gerardo Ortiz, Gloria Trevi, Jesse & Joy, Jhay Cortez, Lit Killah, Los Ángeles Azules, María Becerra, Nicki Nicole, Sofia Reyes, Ozuna and Tiago PZK. These stars, representing a broad spectrum of Latin music genres, will bring exciting musical performances to the seventh edition of the Latin AMAs, which will broadcast LIVE on Telemundo on Thursday, April 21, beginning with the red carpet special at 7pm/6c from the Michelob ULTRA Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Mexican Regional genre will be well represented by group Calibre 50, arriving at the Latin AMAs with three nominations, including Favorite Song — Regional Mexican for 'A La Antigüita'; along with singer/songwriter Gerardo Ortiz who is nominated for Favorite Video with 'Fino licor', and legendary band Los Ángeles Azules, nominated in the category of Favorite Duo or Group — Regional Mexican, and which promises to bring audiences to their feet.
Global superstar Ozuna will hit the Latin AMAs stage with three nominations including Artist of the Year and having recently released his first two singles of 2022: 'Deprimida' and 'G Wagon'; meanwhile, Puerto Rican singer Jhay Cortez joins the list of performers as one of the evening’s favorites with eight nominations, including Artist of the Year, Single of the Year for 'Dákiti' and Viral Song of the Year for 'Fiel'. Multi-award-winning group Black Eyed Peas will make a special appearance, while Mexican duo Jesse & Joy takes a break from their Cliches tour to perform at the Latin AMAs. Newcomer Boza will sing for the first time at the awards, after the highly awaited release of his album Bucle.
Mexican singer-songwriter Gloria Trevi will pause her Divina World Tour to lead the current line-up of female performers at the Latin AMAs stage, which also includes singer and author Chiquis who is nominated for Favorite Social Artist, as well as singer María Becerra, nominated for New Artist of the Year, and who forms part of a group of rising urban Argentinian artists that include Nicki Nicole, Tiago PZK and Lit Killah. They are joined by Colombian singer-songwriter Esteman.
Adding to this impressive list of artists are previously announced superstars, including legendary Mexican performer Lupita D’Alessio, who will be honored with the Latin AMAs Legend Award and Regional Mexican idol Christian Nodal, who will receive the Latin AMAs Extraordinary Evolution Award and who is also a five-time nominee.
The Latin AMAs, produced by MBS Special Events and Telemundo, will celebrate Latin music’s finest and showcase electrifying musical performances.
