The Tacro Is the New Crazy Food Mashup You Need to Know About
It's 2018 and innovation seems to be our daily bread in every aspect of our lives, no pun intended. That goes for the dishes we eat, the trips we make... it’s a great time to be alive, and we are loving it!
The newest food innovation is the tacro, a croissant-taco hybrid like nothing we’ve ever eaten, or seen, but we are certain it tastes delicioso.
If you think about it, what could go wrong? It’s like the regular taco we know and love, but, instead of the classic tortilla, it’s wrapped in a yummy croissant. To be honest, sounds kind of weird, but we are here for it.
This new trend came to light this January in a San Francisco bakery, Vive La Tarte, and has since taken the Instagram world by storm.
And if it’s not Instagram famous, it’s not famous at all, right?
At Vive La Tarte, fillings for the tacro are varied, they range from pulled pork, to chile chicken with avocado or barbecued jackfruit.

Due to its success, at Vive La Tarte they are planning to create more versions of the original tacro, including one for breakfast.
Tacro three times a day keeps the doctor away! Isn’t that how the saying goes?
If the flaky and savory crust seems like something up your alley, (it is definitely up ours), you'd better get there fast. Vive La Tarte’s Instagram account has revealed that the $12 tacros have been selling out within two hours of when they go on sale at 11 a.m.
All it’s social media fame is bound to make the tacro the official food trend for 2018 and we are booking our San Francisco ticket right now!
