San Juan, PR — June 16, 2022 — Telemundo announced today that international, award-winning music stars Farruko and Victor Manuelle, will be honored with the Dedication and Contribution awards, respectively, which will be bestowed upon by the “Premios Tu Música Urbano” for their social and musical contributions within the urban genre. The special awards will be handed out during the awards ceremony which will broadcast live for the first time on Telemundo on Thursday, June 23 at 7pm/6c, from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan. Farruko will be honored with the Dedicatoria Award, which is given to those who have defended their music, taking the genre to a higher level, and are the pure definition of the urban movement. Farruko is a favorite among reggaeton singers, and he has also cultivated other genres such as rap, trap, hip hop, R&B, dancehall, and non secular music. With nine albums, and the same number of international tours in the last 12 years, and emblematic songs including “Passion Whine,” “Chillax,” “Krippy Kush,” and “Calma” next to Pedro Capó, Farruko is one of the most popular urban singers worldwide, who has achieved collaborations with the biggest representatives of the genre, including Daddy Yankee, Bad Bunny, Don Omar, Nicky Jam and J Balvin. He surprised the world a few weeks ago with the launch of his new song “Nazareno,” the first to be released after announcing a spiritual transformation, and one that’s rapidly becoming a summer hit.
Victor Manuelle will be the recipient of the Contribución Award, given to those artists of other music styles who weren’t afraid to try what the urban sounds had to offer, and they opened doors for them. Known as “El Sonero de la Juventud,” singer-songwriter and musical producer Victor Manuelle, was one of the first who risked and merged salsa with urban rhythms, striving to evolve and maintain refreshing sounds. Thanks to successful collaborations with stars like Don Omar, Tego Calderón, Yandel, Bad Bunny, Farruko and Wisin, he was able to showcase his salsa to a younger audience, without losing his essence. In fact, he just launched his album Lado A Lado B, a musical offering that dedicates one side to modern sounds and the other to traditional salsa.
