Peacock Releases 'Dime Quién Soy: Mistress of War,' on International Women’s Day

Peacock found the best way to celebrate International Women's Day!

On Monday, March 8th, Peacock found the best way to celebrate International Women's Day with the release of 'Dime Quién Soy: Mistress of War' ('Tell me who I am: Mistress of War'), which is based on the successful novel by Spanish journalist and writer Julia Navarro.

The series, starring Irene Escolar and produced by Movistar +, Telemundo International Studios and DLO Productions, consists of 9 episodes, and all are now available in both English and Spanish.

Created by José Manuel Lorenzo and written by Piti Español, 'Dime Quién Soy: Mistress of War' tells the story of Amelia Garayoa, a Spanish socialite who is suddenly immersed in the world of international espionage.

Set in the middle of Europe's turbulent times in 1934, Amelia leaves her family behind to join the fight for freedom. When she enlists as an international spy, intrigue, war, love, and espionage quickly become the reality of her life, placing her in the midst of the most important events in 20th-century European history.

The stellar cast of this series includes, in addition to Escolar (winner of the Goya for Best New Actress in 2015 and awarded at the San Sebastián International Film Festival), Pablo Derqui, Oriol Plá, Will Keen, Pierre Kiwitt, and Maria Pia Calzone.

In January 2020, and on her official Instagram account, Irene Escolar revealed to her followers that 'Dime Quién Soy' had 115 days of filming, and along with a black and white photo, which shows behind the scenes of the production, shared a message of thanks to all the people who worked with her.

"This is just a small part of an incredible team that has put its heart and talent at the service of this shoot and that for 8 months has accompanied, cared for, loved, and respected me. Without them and without the 168 Spanish actors and actresses, Germans, English, Italians, and Poles who with their talent, generosity, and enthusiasm have accompanied us on this great trip, it would have been impossible to tell the life of Amelia Garayoa, "said the 32-year-old star.

On how much she learned from this experience, the Madrilenian added: "I have lived the most passionate and intense months of my life, I have learned, cried, laughed and enjoyed without end."
