MIAMI — December 8, 2021 – Telemundo presents a full lineup of special multiplatform programming leading up to the 70th edition of MISS UNIVERSE® airing live coast-to-coast from Eilat, Israel, this Sunday, December 12 starting at 3pm ET/2 CT/1 PT. As a prelude to the highly anticipated event, the network will feature complete coverage of all the preliminary events preceding the competition on “hoy Día,” “Noticias Mediodía,” “En Casa con Telemundo,” “Suelta La Sopa,” “Al Rojo Vivo,” “Acceso Total” and the local newscasts. Additionally, on Telemundo.com/missuniverso, fans can continue to vote for their favorite candidate*, get behind-the-scenes access and find exclusive content, interviews, and photo galleries.

The exclusive Spanish-language home of MISS UNIVERSE® in the U.S. will broadcast the following seven-hour programming lineup on Sunday, December 12:

 ·      Starting at 3pm ET/2 CT/1 PT, Telemundo will kick-start the celebration with “MISS UNIVERSE®: Las Nuestras” (Miss Universe: Our Contestants), a special live program hosted by Aylin Mujica and Lucho Borrego, featuring former Latina titleholders and participants who will speak about their experiences and how the competition shaped their lives. 

·      At 6pm ET/5 CT/3 PT, a special one-hour preshow, “MISS UNIVERSE®: Celebrando Nuestras Reinas” (Miss Universe: Celebrating our Queens), to be hosted by former Miss Universe® and winner of Telemundo’s “La Casa de los Famosos,” Alicia Machado, and Jorge Bernal, will present the Latina contestants and celebrate their cultural heritage through folkloric musical performances. The Miss Universe hopefuls will talk about their journey to the competition and what they hope to accomplish if they win the crown.

·      At 7pm ET/6 CT/4 PT, renowned personalities Jacky Bracamontes and Cristian de la Fuente will take the stage to host the coast-to-coast live broadcast of the 70th edition of MISS UNIVERSE® exclusively in Spanish. The three-hour event featuring representatives from around the world competing in various categories will include a special participation from “hoy Día” entertainment host Adamari López a member of the competition’s selection committee. The evening will culminate when the current MISS UNIVERSE®, Mexico’s Andrea Meza, crowns her successor at the end of the night. The show will simulcast on Universo and the Telemundo App and will be available on Peacock on Monday, December 13.

·  At 10pm/9 CT, immediately after the new queen is crowned, Telemundo will present “MISS UNIVERSE®: La Celebración” (Miss Universe: The Celebration), a one-hour live special hosted by Alicia Machado and Jorge Bernal. The program will showcase the new MISS UNIVERSE® in the first moments following her coronation, as well as commentary and reactions from fans around the world, other contestants and family members.
