Antonio Banderas Tests Positive for Coronavirus and Spends His Birthday in Quarantine

Antonio Banderas shared the news at the same time that he shared a photo of his childhood to celebrate his 60th birthday.

Antonio Banderas is not celebrating his 60th birthday exactly as he expected. The Spanish actor revealed to his followers on social media that he tested positive for coronavirus and that even before confirming his diagnosis, he already assumed that he was infected, having experienced some mild symptoms of the disease.

“Greetings to all. I want to make public that today, August 10, I am forced to celebrate my 60th birthday following quarantine after having tested positive for COVID-19, caused by the coronavirus,” he started his post on social media.

“I would like to add that I feel relatively well, just a little more tired than usual and confident that I will recover as soon as possible following the medical indications that I hope will allow me to overcome the infectious process that I suffer and that is affecting so many people around the planet. I will take advantage of this isolation to read, write, rest, and continue making plans to begin to give meaning to my 60 years of age, to which I arrived full of desire and enthusiasm. A big hug to everyone. Antonio Banderas."

The famous actor shared his post with a black and white photo of him when he was just a baby.

Banderas is spending quarantine in his native Malaga with his girlfriend Nicole Kimpel.

Everything seems to indicate that the artist is calm, although let’s remember that in 2017, he suffered a heart attack due to stress and work overload; Since that moment, Banderas began to take things more calmly. He put on the brakes and learned to say no to some projects, overcoming a harmful work addiction.

In addition, Antonio stopped smoking and betting on sports. Today, he has become quite a runner and it is common to see him walking through the streets of Malaga.

At the end of last year, Banderas fulfilled his life-long dream of creating his own theater, "Soho Caixabank". As if that was not enough, the actor also premiered his own musical, "A Chorus Line", which was going to tour Spain after succeeding in his hometown but was interrupted by the pandemic.
