5. rock in rio 

if you're a fan of rock, rock in rio is literally the festival for you. since 1985, the city of rio opened its doors for rock lovers all over the world. the first show featured queen, ac/dc, james taylor, and rod stewart among many more. three decades later, beyonce, rihanna, and justin timberlake grace the stage. the festival still lives up to its "rock" name, but for those who want to see today's pop hits live, can also enjoy a visit here. 

4. vive latino

head to foro sol in mexico for one of the world's most important spanish rock concerts in the world. the three-day vive latino festival features all kinds of genres that makes this fest a go-to for any music lover. listen to rock, reggae, spanish, and for those who enjoy a more alternative taste like arcade fire, there's that too. plus, who wouldn't want to snap a shot with this colorful sign up top?

3. barbarella

the edm festival first opened its doors in the dominican republic back in 2011. since then, it's hosted laidback luke, afrojack, hardwell, and many more house names. the best part of barbarella? you can head to one of many beaches once you're done jumping to the beat.
 

2. storyland

storyland isn't just any music festival. this week-long party in cartagena, colombia includes vip parties and events on rooftops, islands, and beaches. in the past, deadmau5, steve aoki, david guetta and armin van buuren have headlined with over 30,000 fans attending. grab your tickets quick because according to this epic promo, next year is going to be lit.

finally, creamfields is worth going just for the spectacular visuals across the open fields. the music is pretty dope too. david guetta, lcd soundsytem, and tiësto have previously performed at the festival. you also have your pick when choosing to attend this festival. it first premiered in the uk, but since then, its spread all over, including buenos aires, santiago de chile, lima, and mexico city. choose your poison wisely.
