Mya became the first transgender actress to ever win at the annual ceremony for her role in 'Tangerine'.

This is what she said to the press: "When I look at acting, I don’t look at the money or the fame or anything like that," she said. "I went through a very, very hard struggle. And for me when I do stuff like this, I have to let other people know you can do what you put your mind to. Because the struggle was real for me, and I got out of it.”

...and when she was asked if she would ever move back to L.A., this was her response:

Tom McCarthy’s film won in all the categories it was up for: Best Feature Film, Best Director for Tom McCarthy, Best Screenplay for McCarthy and Josh Singer, and Best Editing for Tom McArdle.

After being named best male lead at the 31st Film Independent Spirit Awards, the 15-year-old was humbled by all the attention he has been receiving since the release of 'Beasts of No Nation’. He had no words to describe his gratitude to the press.

And if this isn’t cute enough, look at who he hung out with yesterday at Universal Studios.
