After a small hiatus from social media and returning in 2018 with the summer jam "Estamos Bien," all eyes were on Bad Bunny.
In the single, which dropped with a homemade video filmed in Puerto Rico, Bunny opened up about mental health and finding happiness in the simple things. He also became the center of attention because of his purple nails. Despite the controversy surrounding his aesthetic, Bad Bunny continued being Bad Bunny, flaunting a new mani every so often.
His act of confidence and not caring about what others think of him has inspired other artists in the Latin urban industry to do the same and paint their nails too.
Check out some reggaeton artists who are making a statement with their colorful fingers.
LENNOX from ZION & LENNOX
The first time we spotted Lennox rocking his nail polish was in Sech’s music video for “Solita,” featuring Farruko and Zion & Lennox. In the clip, his nails were painted in yellow, orange and purple. As seen on his photos on Instagram, he also likes rocking out green.
Lenny Tavarez is a bit darker when it comes to choosing his nail polish. The Puerto Rican singer currently has his nails painted in black. If you look closer, you can see notice cute nail art on one of his fingers.
Puerto Rican producer DJ Luian has also jumped on the trend. Not only is he rocking his new fit body on Instagram, but also his fresh set of nails. Currently, he’s rocking neon yellow on one hand and hot pink on the other.
In May, many celebrities on social media jumped onboard the #GreenNailsChallenge to raise awareness for mental health. One reggaeton artist who painted his nails in green was Puerto Rican star Farruko.
Jon Z also honored Mental Health Awareness Month by painting his nails green after Farruko encouraged him to do so.
