Lin-Manuel Miranda Surprises a Young Superfan with the Hamilton Cast (WATCH)
One lucky Hamilton fan got the surprise of a lifetime by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Aubrey, a 9-year-old superfan from Florida had plans to see ‘Hamilton’ live in Broadway and after her plans were canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Lin-Manuel decided to bring the hit Broadway play to her virtually.
You will never guess who was the mastermind behind this amazing surprise. John Krasinski planned the whole thing. In an episode of his new YouTube show "Some Good News," the actor saw a tweet from little Aubrey’s mother explaining the whole situation.
"@Lin_Manuel We were supposed to see Hamilton in Jacksonville tonight—DD's 9th bday present (seeing Hamilton has been her dream since we saw her 1st Broadway show last year), but we're home watching “Mary Poppins Returns” instead. At least we're safe & healthy," her tweet read.
After reading Aubrey's mom's tweet, John had the marvelous idea to have Aubrey on his show and gave her and her mom tickets to see the Broadway show in New York once things return to normal.
During the show, Emily Blunt made an appearance to surprise Aubrey since she is also a fan of “Mary Poppins Returns.” But that wasn’t the only surprise Krasinski had behind the camera for Aubrey.
Little did she know, Lin-Manuel was also going to make a cameo on the show while John and Emily were in the middle of a debate. During their chat, Lin-Manuel promised Aubrey he would top John’s surprise and started singing “Alexander Hamilton” from the play accompanied by Leslie Odom Jr., Anthony Ramos, and more cast members.
