The Latin trap star broke streaming records in all digital platforms with the release of his highly anticipated album “YHLQMDLG.”
The multi-platinum global artist’s second album surpassed 70 million streams on Spotify and 25 million on Apple Music in just 24 hours. This makes ”el Conejo malo” the artist with the biggest album debut and the largest number of daily streams in 2020.
To unveil the cover art of “YHLQMDLG,” Bad Bunny made a global announcement exclusively on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon followed by a special performance of his hit song “Ignorantes” with Panamanian singer Sech.
Furthermore, Bad Bunny took over iconic billboards around the world like Times Square, Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo which were sponsored by digital platforms such as YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and Spotify.
But that’s not all. The “Vete” singer appeared on the cover of many prestigious playlist on Spotify, including, “Baila Reggaeton,” “Éxitos México” “Éxitos USA,” “Hits Urbanos,” “Mansion Reggaetón” “Pegao,” “Trapperz” and "¡Viva Latino!"
It’s no surprise that “YHLQMDLG” debuted #2 on Apple Music’s global chart “Today’s Hits” and #6 in the “Top 100: Global Chart. The album was also featured on prestigious playlists like "New Music Daily," "Music Video Essentials" and "¡Dale Play!".
The most impressive thing about the album is that Bad Bunny brought old school reggaeton back. He didn’t just include Trap, which is mostly what he is known for. “YHLQMDLG” includes 20 songs and unparalleled collabs with some of the best old school reggaeton rappers and new generation rapper such as Arcángel, Anuel AA, Daddy Yankee, Duki, Jowell y Randy, Kendo Kaponi, Mora, Myke Towers, Pablo Chill-e, Ñengo Flow, Sech, y Yaviah.
