Jennifer Lopez open up why she made such a big deal about turning 50 Years old and she also explained why she specifically did it on tour.
"Everybody thought I was crazy when I wanted to go out and let everybody know that I was 50," the Latina singer shared in a YouTube travel vlog. "They were like 'Why are we highlighting this, again?'"
However, the artist revealed she wanted to remove any stigma women may have about getting older and to teach her fans they can achieve what they want out of life. "It was important as a woman to do that; to let people know that you don't get to write women off at a certain point in their life. You don't get to write people off," JLo said.
She also confess that she found the entire experience surprisingly liberating and cathartic. "You're getting better and better as you go, so long as you are open to the experience of growing and evolving," Lopez explained.
The singer concluded her video with this expowering message to her followers:
"Be your best authentic self. That's the key to happiness, to love, and to making the world dance."
