Salma Hayek Reveals New Details About Her 'Eternals' Role
Salma Hayek is ready to show the world her new gig on "The Eternals." The Latin actress also said that it was extremely hard to stay quiet about this particular project.
"I've known for a long time. I've known since March," Hayek said during the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. "We have to keep it a secret and it kills you. It's like the most amazing thing that can happen to you, but you cannot tell anyone."
Hayek added that she is "kind of the leader" of the group. "So it's like a family and I'm like their mother, and they're all beautiful in different ways," she explained.
Salma will play a powerful superhero known as Ajak in Marvel's new film and If you aren't familiar with "The Eternals," they are are "a group of immortals who have been on Earth for 35,000 years," as described by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
The star-studded cast includes Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Don Lee, Walking Dead's Lauren Ridloff, and Game of Thrones' Richard Madden. The movie will be directed by filmmaker Chloé Zhao and is set to premiere on November 6, 2020.
The Mexican artist recently shared a heartfelt reaction to her casting on Instagram.
"I'm so excited to join the Marvel family as Ajak, the mother of all Eternals. It used to be the father of all Eternals, but girls... this is OUR time!" Salma wrote on the image of her new character.
