As Maluma’s “Mala Mia” climbs 7-1 on the Latin Airplay chart (dated Nov. 10; 14.9 million audience impressions in the week ending Nov. 4, up 54 percent, according to Nielsen Music), the track also climbs 9-1 on Latin Pop Airplay and 6-1 on Latin Rhythm Airplay. It’s the second time in 2018 that Maluma has led all three lists at the same time, after “Clandestino,” with Shakira, hit No. 1 on Sept. 29.
“I am thankful to God, my family and fans for being there for me and sharing this dream with me,” Maluma tells Billboard. “Also thankful for my producers and co-writers who are part of this dream.”
“Mala Mia” marks Maluma’s 11th No. 1 on Latin Airplay and fifth of 2018. Over on Hot Latin Songs -- which blends airplay, digital song sales and streaming activity -- the track rises 17-9, becoming his tenth top 10.
Maluma continues to make waves in the top 10 on Latin Airplay, as his collaboration with Reik, “Amigos Con Derechos,” ascends 12-9 (9.3 million audience, up 15 percent). It’s the 12th top 10 for Maluma and fourth for Reik.
This is the sixth week in 2018 that Maluma has placed a pair of songs in the top 10 concurrently. For two weeks (May 19, May 26) he was in the top 10 with "El Prestamo" and "Corazon," with Nego do Borel. Then, on July 28, Aug. 4 and Aug. 11, he was in the top 10 with both "El Prestamo" and through his featured role on Prince Royce's "El Clavo."
DJ Snake & Selena Gomez Notch First Latin Airplay Top 10: Elsewhere on Latin Airplay, DJ Snake’s “Taki Taki,” featuring Selena Gomez, Ozuna and Cardi B, enters the top 10 in its fourth week. It climbs 13-8 with 9.3 million in audience (up 18 percent).
Both Snake and Gomez pick up their first top 10. While Snake has landed in the top 25 (“Lean On” with Major Lazer, featuring Mo, in 2015), Gomez’s highest ranking prior to “Taki” was a top 45 in 2013 (“Come & Get It" peaked at No. 41.)
Meanwhile, Ozuna clocks a 12th top 10 and Cardi B her fourth.
