Miracles happen once in a while… to prove, it there’s some serious talk that Princess Mia still has one more chapter left in her diary.
Almost 16 years ago, Disney debuted one of it’s most beloved movies, The Princess Diaries. Now there’s word that a third installment is underway.
Our first hint was when Julie Andrews opened up to Buzzfeed about her interest. "There's talk about it," she said. "And Annie’s [Anne Hathaway] very keen to do it. I would very willingly and happily do it."
But no one from The Princess Diaries’ production/creative team revealed anything…until now.
Meg Cabot, who wrote the Princess Diaries book series, recently told Entertainment Weekly that a script already exists, but that it’s just a matter of if, when, and who wants to do it. Meg continued by sharing that the interest in going forward with a third movie, is to create a “tribute" to its late Hollywood director, Garry Marshall.

Before his death is July 2016, Marshall told People Magazine that he was brainstorming ideas for a third sequel, but Marshall passed away from pneumonia before anything could happen.

Cabot and Andrews aren’t the only ones that have given fans a glimmer of hope. Robert Schwartzman, who played Mia’s first love interest, shared his interest in returning, while This is Us star Mandy Moore said she’d love to come back and make a cameo.
"Maybe I would make some quick cameo. I would like to see this woman evolve," Mandy shared with Cosmopolitan about her character.
All we know is, we need definite answers asap!
