Many of us cannot tell the difference between Miss World and Miss Universe; until very recently I was actually part of that crowd that thought that these pageants were one and the same.
But they are different; Eric Morley in the UK created the Miss World in 1951 while clothing company, Pacific Mills in 1952 in the United States, created Miss Universe. Tycoon, Donald Trump and NBC, currently owns Miss Universe.
Miss Universe is also considered a higher title than Miss World, although this is debatable.
These contests are also held in different dates, with Miss world this year being held in December 14, 2014 at ExCeL London, England and the Miss Universe pageant, will be held on January 25, 2015 at the U.S. Century Bank Arena at Florida International University in Doral, Miami, Florida, USA.
