Bajo El Mismo Cielo highMIAMI, June 30, 2016 – Under the Same Sky (Bajo el Mismo Cielo), the Telemundo Studios production distributed by Telemundo Internacional, has reaped notable international success, becoming an audience favorite in Spain and Colombia, among other countries.
In Spain, during its last week on air on the Nova TDT channel, Under the Same Sky achieved an average audience of 400,000. During its most watched broadcast June 15, the inspiring drama captivated 460,000 viewers, becoming the channel’s most viewed telenovela and the tenth most watched TDT show of that day.
Additionally, following its early June premiere in Colombia, Under the Same Sky has become the leader of its timeslot on Caracol. With a 2.4 average rating and a 19.4 share, the telenovela starring Gabriel Porras and Maria Elisa Camargo has outperformed its closest competitor, which attained an average rating of 1.7 and share of 13.6 during this time period.
In the United States, Under the Same Sky became Telemundo’s most successful telenovela in three years at 9:00 pm. Its final episode had an average audience of 1.2 million Adults 18 to 49, making Telemundo the leader of its time slot for this night.
Under the Same Sky is the story of immigrants in the United States. Carlos, a widower, arrives to the country undocumented. He works as a gardener to provide for his youngest son, while bearing the pain of losing his eldest son to a gang. His life, full of sacrifices and hardships, takes a turn when he meets Adela, a beautiful and troubled gang member. Their connection is instantaneous, but their love is be threatened by street violence, injustice and fierce opposition from Felicia, his eternal admirer. Still, nothing can shake this humble man, whose goal in life is to be happy and live for those he loves
