Selena Quintanilla Inspired TV Show In The Works
Selena is coming back to TV, kind of!
Variety reports that ABC has given the green light to a pilot of a new series inspired by the musical legacy of La Reina del Tex Mex, Selena Quintanilla.
According to Variety, "the series focuses on Alex Guerra, a chart-topping, award winning pop star who has been estranged from her family for 5 years. She tries to pick up the pieces when a crisis forces her to return home. Alex finds herself back in Texas, juggling a love triangle, the demands of her career and the dark secrets of the family that she now desperately wants to win back".
The pilot is written and co-executive produced by Scandal's Miguel Nolla. Selena's siblings, AB Quintanilla, and Suzette Quintanilla will be producers as well. Scooter Braun, known as Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande's manager, will also serve as a producer for the series.
