Meet the female finalists for Artist of the Year (PHOTOS)

¡The big stars representing the power of Latinas in the 2016 Latin Billboard Awards!

LATINA POWER

It doesn't matter that women artists are outnumbered by men in the lists of finalists for the Latin Billboard Awards because little by little opportunities for women are slowly and smootly coming up in the world of music. These 10 women are yet another reason to shoutout and applaud the achievements that these great and famous artists have achieved; either as solo artists or voices of a group, you can not miss the 2016 Latin Billboard Music Awards in order to support them. 

ANA GABRIEL

•Mexican star Ana Gabriel has been triumphing in the Latin Billboard Awards since 1986. This year Ana Gabriel is finalist for: "Top Latin Abums" Artist of the Year, Female, based on his latest 2015 collection.

SHAKIRA

•The beautiful Colombian Shakira was finalist for: Social Artist of the Year, an award she won last year at the Latin Billboards. This year, the pop song and ballad with Maná "Mi Verdad" is finalist for "Hot Latin Song", Song of the Year, Vocal Event, and she is also finalist for Artist of the Year, Female; and Pop Song of the Year.

HA*ASH

•Mexican sisters who are best known under the name "Ha*Ash (Hanna and Ashley)" were recently with two hits for the Top 20 Billboard's Latin Pop Songs "Perdon, Perdon" and "Lo Aprendi de Ti." The wonderful duo is finalist for Latin Pop Songs; Artist of the Year, Duo or Group. 

CHOCQUIBTOWN
 

•The Afro-Colombian group ChocQuibTown back in 2006; fans were very excited to hear the voice of Tostao in thei debut album "Somos Pacifico". This year the group is finalist for Tropical Song, Artist of the Year; Duo, or Group.

NATTI NATASHA

•One of the most seductive voices of urban Latin music, Natti Natasha is back in the game with "Perdida en Tus Ojos" together with his mentor, Don Omar. Natti is a finalist for: Hot Latin Songs; Artist of the Year, Female.

JOY HUERTA

•Joy Huerta from the duo "Jesse and Joy" has emerged as one of the leading voices in the Latin Pop music, singing along with her partner Jesse. Their latest album "Un Besito Más" debuted in the Top Latin Albums as No. 1 this past December. Jesse and Joy are finalists for Latin Pop Songs; Artist of the Year, Duo or Group and Latin Pop Albums; Artist of the Year, Duo or Group.

CHIQUIS RIVERA

•The daughter of the deceased and famous Jenni Rivera debuted in the Billboard Top Latin Albums. The incredible and amazing resemblance of her mother, Chiquis Rivera is finalist for the 2016 Latin Billboards: Top Latin Albums; Artist of the Year, Female and Regional Mexican Album of the Year, Solo Artist. 

SELENA

•Twenty years after her death, Selena still serves as a role model for women and Latinas, and her voice still continues to echo touching the hearts and souls of the audiences regardless the gender. This 2016 Selena is a finalist for Artist of the Year for the second consecutive year.

JENNIFER LÓPEZ

•The very famous and Latin icon, Jennifer López collaborated on several songs of this past 2015. This year she is finalist for Hot Latin Songs; Artist of the Year, Female.

NATALIA JIMÉNEZ

•The Spanish singer Natalia Jiménez showed her skills as a vocalist in what was her previous group "La Quinta Estación", then separated in order to be a solo artist which gave her the privilege of winning her first Latin Billboard Award for Solo Artist last year. This year, besides being coach of "La Voz Kids" she is a finalist for: Hot Latin Songs; Artist of the Year, Female and Best Latin Album; Artist of the Year, Female.
